The visit, organised by Azure Ultra on behalf of its shared yacht ownership members, gave participants the unique opportunity to observe Sunseeker master artisans at work while feasting their eyes on a few show-stopping luxury yacht models.

The lucky Azure Ultra members were Mr and Mrs Jordan, Mr and Mrs Leighfield, and Mr and Mrs Bentall (from left to right). They were met by representatives from the Azure Ultra team at the Sunseeker Sales Office in Poole – one of five such establishments situated countrywide. The full party was warmly greeted by Colin Rowles, their host and guide for the day. Assisted by Sunseeker trainee Jenny Llewelyn, Colin welcomed the group inside the premises for morning coffee and biscuits.

Following an introductory video relating Sunseeker’s half-a-century-old history, Colin and Jenny whisked off the VIP visitors to a private viewing of the company’s specialist Marine Technology Centre. It is inside this building that Sunseeker’s main driving forces – imagination and innovation – truly come to life.

Housed within are the full works that take place behind the making of a Sunseeker yacht interior, as well as the technology to make it happen. It is here that yacht furniture and other components are designed and produced, executed down to the finest upholstery and finishing details. A dedicated crew composed of marine designers, engineers, electricians and master craftsmen is assisted by skilled apprentices committed to this specialist trade.

Equipped with “a hawk’s eye, expert hands and a devilish attention to detail”, the team continuously combines efforts to create the ever-innovative Sunseeker fleet – which has been expertly hand-built, hand-crafted and hand-finished to perfection since 1967.

Shortly after, the Azure Ultra guests were treated to complimentary lunch in the company of their guide, and later proceeded on a walk-through of the Sunseeker shipyard in Poole, where the yacht building process could be viewed in its different stages. With an average of 5 weeks dedicated to finalising each production line, the yacht skeleton model is here built up from scratch and seen through to its completion.

The Sunseeker tour was super. My wife and myself felt very well looked after, and we feel this is something that Azure Ultra should continue to do, as it was a great experience for all those present.

At the shipyard it was possible to observe exactly how, once the hull moulding is finalised and the various yacht decks, quarters and compartments constructed, the interior components brought over from the Technology Centre are ready to be assembled and installed within, with all singular parts coming together to form the final finished product.

Both my wife and I had a fabulous day at Sunseeker in Poole. We all agreed that the day was perfect. Thank you, Sunseeker, for a fantastic and informative visit. Back at the Sunseeker office, the visitors were able to admire a range of newly finished Sunseeker motor yacht models. Among these, the latest Sunseeker Predator 57 version stood out – its sleek design and detail a sight to behold. Throughout the VIP tour, visitors were able to experience first-hand Sunseeker’s vision of "breaking new waves" in action.
