The 8th edition of the Superyacht Design Symposium is set to take place between 21st and 23rd February 2016 at the popular European ski destination of Kitzbühel in the Austrian Alps.
This eagerly awaited, highly attended event will bring together superyacht owners, yacht industry design experts and professionals from other spheres of design. Together these will have the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and discuss current views and issues concerning yacht design. Among the speakers present on panels this year are Giles English – co-founder of Bremont watches, Gerry McGovern – Director of Design at Jaguar Land Rover, and specialist yacht designer Andrew Winch.
Over the two-day programme, the Superyacht Design Symposium – reputed to be the most prestigious annual yacht design event – will also feature technical workshops for attendees. The topics of discussion for this year’s edition include luxury and beauty in yacht design as well as the relationship between clients and designers.
The ShowBoats Design Awards will also be held during the Superyacht Design Symposium in recognition of the most innovative, elegant and inspiring yacht designs. Among the awards presented are best sailing and motor yachts interior, as well as top exterior and naval architecture design. The Young Designer of the Year Award, which is aimed at student and trainee yacht designer nominees, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award will also be presented on the same evening.
