The Slights are regular visitors to the island of Malta, with Dee being of Maltese descent and the couple owning an Azure vacation membership since 2006. They were aware of Azure Ultra from its very start, and having met with members of the fractional yacht ownership programme and heard their positive feedback, they continued to confirm their interest in the luxury yacht lifestyle it offers.
With springtime sea conditions during their holiday in Malta extremely favourable, the temptation to try it out for themselves proved irresistible; so they jumped at the opportunity of a luxurious half-day charter on board Sunseeker Portofino 46 Miss Moneypenny.
A Luxury Yacht Charter Like No Other
Having tried and tested it, Dee and Graham highly commend Azure Ultra’s half-day charter programme as a “spectacular, exhilarating, luxurious” experience. Graham fondly recalls the time spent on board as an “entirely relevant” opportunity to spoil themselves and receive some well-deserved pampering throughout the whole charter.
Graham has always wanted to navigate the Grand Harbour, and was pleased to finally be able to tick this wish off his bucket list. Complementing Graham’s sense of accomplishment, Dee claims to have loved every second of the four-hour charter, and knew as soon as she boarded the Sunseeker that she would soon be doing it again.
Tailor-Made Yacht Charter Itinerary
On arriving at Birgu’s prestigious yacht marina, Dee and Graham were warmly greeted by Captain Dominic and Steward/Deckhand Luc on Pontoon B – home of the Azure Ultra fleet. Sailing out of Grand Harbour on a fine spring Sunday, Dominic steered Miss Moneypenny northwards along the western coast, eventually reaching St Paul’s Islands.
This was the very location where Dee had scattered her late Maltese father’s ashes a few years before, and to which spot the couple keep returning every year since. Dee was touched to see that Dominic had been so accommodating of her special request to revisit the place all along.
The couple spent some quiet time reflecting and paying their respects. Following this emotional moment, the yacht anchored in the peaceful bay of Mistra. Here Dee and Graham enjoyed a freshly prepared lunch and some more undisturbed quality time together before returning to Vittoriosa.
Luxury Yacht Charter Highlights
Both singing words of praise for the Azure Ultra crew, Dee and Graham thoroughly enjoyed the personal attention and on-board service, delivered to them in a friendly yet discreet manner.
I’ve always observed boats out at sea and often wondered who might be on them, or even who might own them. I felt very privileged as soon as we boarded.
— Dee
The Slights tend to visit Malta in the quieter months of spring or autumn, finding that during this time they enjoy having that bit more of the island all to themselves. They loved spending time on the boat in the spring period, and found the experience of being surrounded by nothing but blue sea a truly therapeutic one.
The name Azure really worked for us – two beautiful blues of sea and sky combined; the colours were just stunning. We already know we want more.
— Graham
Five-Star Treatment
The Slights are frequent cruise ship travellers, but this was their very first yacht charter on the Mediterranean. They described the Azure Ultra experience as one that exceeded their expectations, accompanied by the thoughtful crew members who took great care of them throughout.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I’d rate crew service even beyond that. Dominic and Luc were very efficient and knowledgeable, and ensured our safety and comfort at all times.
— Dee
Dee and Graham are keen to repeat their Mediterranean boating adventure in the near future. In fact, they have been giving it more than a thought lately, and are already considering bringing along family members on their next Azure Ultra yacht charter.
