Over 50 boats are already gearing up for the 36th edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, which will depart from the island of Malta this October 17th.
The 606-nautical mile yacht race will feature participants from eighteen countries who will brave the challenging weather conditions to sail round one of the most scenic-rich and exciting sea courses around.
With Valletta’s Grand Harbour – set against the stunning backdrop of Fort St Angelo and the Saluting Battery – as its starting point, the fleet will proceed to sail along the eastern coasts of Sicily, past the Aeolian and Egadi Islands. Crews will then prepare to head south towards Pantelleria and Lampedusa before the final course leg past the South Comino Channel, reaching the finishing line at Marsamxett Harbour shortly after.
Described as one of the most beautiful sailing courses in the world, the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2015 edition will be the perfect opportunity for participants and onlookers to admire the spectacular beauty that adorns the coastline of the Maltese Islands.
