Olivia

Olivia fulfils the role of stewardess/deckhand, which includes performing general boat cleaning and maintenance as well as deck duties. With her stewardess skills impeccably trained to Azure Ultra’s high standards, Olivia regards excellent customer service as one of the highlights of her job.

All the guests I have met on recent charters so far have been provided with outstanding service. The food, crew, activities and general customer service leaves clients with an experience they will never forget.

Background

Having lived in Liverpool, England all her life, Olivia decided to go for a complete career change after five years in the property sales and rental industry. She recently completed her STWC (Safety Training & Crowd Management), and soon after discovered Azure Ultra. As a result, she is now living the dream working for Azure Ultra in Malta.

My family have always been involved in all different types of jobs within the sea industry. I have always been encouraged to go down this path, and luckily I was successful in getting a job with Azure Ultra – a first-class charter company.

Hobbies & Interests

Olivia likes to socialise and spend time with family and friends. She also practises active sports such as horse riding and swimming, and enjoys a quiet read too.

Living & Working in Malta

Since relocating to Malta for her new role with Azure Ultra, Olivia claims to have fallen in love with the island, where she feels completely at home. She is keen to explore more of the islands and the authentic local cuisine.

Olivia looks forward to cruising the Maltese coast daily – especially the scenic spot around St Peter’s Pool, which is also a favourite among charter guests. She has taken a particular liking to Miss Moneypenny, the sporty Sunseeker Portofino 46 forming part of Azure Ultra’s motor yacht fleet.

Gary

As a skipper, Gary must first ensure the safety of everyone on board in addition to being responsible for the smooth operation and navigation of the motor yacht. He strives to deliver outstanding on-board service on a daily basis, in line with Azure Ultra’s ethos of providing guests with a beyond ordinary experience.

Seeing guests enjoying themselves gives me so much satisfaction. The attention to detail that goes into all elements of the charter experience is what sets Azure Ultra apart from any other charter company. That along with the superb team that works so well together and shares the same value of delivering an exceptional boating experience for our guests.

Background

Gary has always wanted to work at sea. Having completed his Motor Yacht Skipper Training Course at the UKSA, he went on to start his own charter company in Ibiza, which he ran for five summer seasons. On his return to his home town of Wakefield in West Yorkshire, he started working as Operational Systems and Projects Manager for a local supplier of Powered Access Equipment. Other positions became available to him when this role was no longer required within the company, but Gary had other ideas:

I took this opportunity to get back into the marine industry; so I updated my training and started applying for my dream roles. I was lucky enough to be offered the role of Boat Captain for Azure Ultra.

Hobbies & Interests

Gary likes to keep active by to going to the gym, and has also completed several charity cycling and walking challenges – including the National Three Peaks Challenge and the Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge. He also loves to travel and experience new places and sights, in addition to being a movie and computing enthusiast.

Living & Working in Malta

Gary’s dream role has always been to captain a Sunseeker yacht, so when this role became available, with Azure Ultra, he knew it was exactly the kind of position he’d been looking for all along.

After further research into Azure Ultra, it became clear that they shared the same values as me; outstanding customer service, superb quality and a great team.

Gary’s first impressions of Malta have been great, and he is really looking forward to experiencing more of what it has to offer when his partner and soon-to-be wife Lindsay joins him on the island.

Malta really is a beautiful place with a lot of history and a lot to see. The weather so far has been a dream compared to the wet, windy and cold weather of the UK.

Azure Ultra’s new skipper is always enthusiastic about meeting and getting to know guests while offering them a memorable experience. He cannot wait to spend the summer working on “three amazing yachts, with an amazing team, in a superb climate!”
